News Flash! Dad posts on a blog...

Well, this is a first. Not just that I posted on a blog, but that I remembered my password so I could sign in. I was inspired by Ali's latest and had to respond. Yes, although it seems like we've been funding you for an eternity, everything temporal has an end sometime. Your next eternity of bills, expenses, etc., will be the Jed & Ali show. At some point, Mom & I have to start setting aside for retirement (only 15 or so years away!). The alternative is to come and live with one of you kids, which would be the ultimate revenge.

Jeff & I just got back from scout camp yesterday. It was Jeff's first one, and probably around my 12th or so. I was so excited to finally not have to camp in the heat and humidity of South Texas. That was the good news. The bad news was that we camped in the heat and humidity of Northeast Ohio instead. I was amazed. Still, it was only around 82 degrees most days, while it has been 15 degrees higher in San Antonio this week, and almost as hot in Utah. We had a fun time. Jeff earned 4 merit badges - First Aid, Environmental Science, Woodcarving, and Pulp & Paper. He also completed a lot of his requirements for 1st Class rank. Not to mention archery, rifle shooting, fishing, capture the flag, etc.

Angela (& Mom for a day) got to go to YW Camp the same week. I'm not entirely sure what it involved except I heard a lot of yelling and screaming in the background when I called Mom. Chocolate syrup played a role as well. You'll have to get the rest of the story from the two of them.

We're getting ready to see everyone in Utah in a few weeks. I know the arrangements for Ali & Jed's wedding are a lot of work, but I'm sure it will all come together just fine. Hopefully, we will have Tom's mission call by this coming Friday, so we can start planning for that as well.

That's it for now. Have a great week!
