Well, we have moved! It's official! And before I post on my blog and recount all the gory details (perfect timing with the southern California fires), here are some fun pictures. :) Enjoy!

Somebody help Angela...

Angela wants to be part of this blog, but I can't figure out how to let her join. Can one of you youngsters help her out? Her email address is angelabusath@yahoo.com (but you already knew that). Thanks!

Vote for TODD!

Hey guys, I have a quick request that will not take much time, if you have a spare second. Nathan's good friend Todd has a band that is in a contest for an LA radio station here, and he needs your votes! Click here, then find The Vignettes and vote for them. It will ask you for your email address, and it has to be a valid one because you have to then click on a link in an email to 'count' your vote. The video features Todd, his wife Mary, Nathan's friend Chris, and his wife Mary (I know, they're both Mary's, it's cute). It's pretty fun.

Thanks! I really appreciate it!

{If you vote, I'll reward you with a hug. Or maybe just a handshake if I don't know you. :) }

Where is everybody?

This is supposed to be how we find out what's going on with one another. Where are you Mom? Dad? Angela - we need to know, so we can remember, what it's like to be a sophomore in high school! Jeff - post a picture of something weird you found online, anything! Come on people! :)

Wedding Photos!

Okay, so if you're looking for Ali's wedding photos -- look no further than HERE!

Hope you like them! :)

And here is one of my favorites (with some added antique texture, of course):

Oh, and let me just tell you -- I had one of these printed already, and it's gorgeous!! The lab that we're using is sa-weet! :) I did one of the Busath kids, too, and it turned out so great. Can't wait to print some more of them!

So cute!

Here are some of the pictures that I've edited of Ali's wedding. (They're the ones from Jessica Kettle.) And don't worry, once I get them all edited, I'll post them onto a Flickr account so that everyone can see them and order them. Ali and Jed, just let me know which ones you'd like and what sizes and I'll order them for you. Jessica's one requirement is that you print everything from WHCC.com, so that the quality is guaranteed. They have good prices, and they're really good, so I agreed with her. I have an account with them, so I can order you whatever you want.

And that goes for anyone else, too. Just place your order with me, and I'll make sure to get them sent to you.

Hope you like them! :) I think they turned out just great.

Let's Just Take A Gander

With continual changes in our family, it's nice to reflect back on the good old days (in no particular order).

Karl's wedding. What a wonderful time. We got to add Nathan to the family and we all got a free trip to CALIFORNIA!! Woo! (Thanks Dad!)

Tubing in Utah is always fun. And by tubing in Utah I mean any time Mom wears that headband and we can make fun of her. That, and Jeff's facial expressions.

"I thought I was white!" Haha Karl, you're black!

Isn't it crazy how every single one of us looks very different now than we did in this picture?

Remember that time in Mexico when we got kicked off the toys because we didn't pay??

Good times.

Pretty girls, pretty girls. Can you say "pretty girls"? Yes, pretty girls.

Yay for family! (even pouty Christian in the corner...)

How could I post a family photo chain without our beloved Nobbin? I mean...Pepper.

Where would we be without Peppoot?!?

Now this was a fun date! And by date I mean the guy who was helping us was hott and I pretended we were on a date...

No words.

What a beautiful family we have!

PS DAD: I really like your profile picture. Very classy. :)

News Flash! Dad posts on a blog...

Well, this is a first. Not just that I posted on a blog, but that I remembered my password so I could sign in. I was inspired by Ali's latest and had to respond. Yes, although it seems like we've been funding you for an eternity, everything temporal has an end sometime. Your next eternity of bills, expenses, etc., will be the Jed & Ali show. At some point, Mom & I have to start setting aside for retirement (only 15 or so years away!). The alternative is to come and live with one of you kids, which would be the ultimate revenge.

Jeff & I just got back from scout camp yesterday. It was Jeff's first one, and probably around my 12th or so. I was so excited to finally not have to camp in the heat and humidity of South Texas. That was the good news. The bad news was that we camped in the heat and humidity of Northeast Ohio instead. I was amazed. Still, it was only around 82 degrees most days, while it has been 15 degrees higher in San Antonio this week, and almost as hot in Utah. We had a fun time. Jeff earned 4 merit badges - First Aid, Environmental Science, Woodcarving, and Pulp & Paper. He also completed a lot of his requirements for 1st Class rank. Not to mention archery, rifle shooting, fishing, capture the flag, etc.

Angela (& Mom for a day) got to go to YW Camp the same week. I'm not entirely sure what it involved except I heard a lot of yelling and screaming in the background when I called Mom. Chocolate syrup played a role as well. You'll have to get the rest of the story from the two of them.

We're getting ready to see everyone in Utah in a few weeks. I know the arrangements for Ali & Jed's wedding are a lot of work, but I'm sure it will all come together just fine. Hopefully, we will have Tom's mission call by this coming Friday, so we can start planning for that as well.

That's it for now. Have a great week!

Mawwige Is Wat Bwings Us Togever Today

Just thought I'd post something, since the last post was on Jeff's birthday...
I'm getting married. Shocker, I know. Surprisingly (with my track record), he's a great guy. It's happening on July 31st in the Salt Lake Temple, for all of those who wear "the Gs". The reception will be held on August 1st for those of you who are Angela and Jeff and Pepper. You are all invited. Bring friends.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!! is due to Karl Ira Dillman-Lakey for taking my engagement pictures, retouching them to reduce my “putrescence”, and designing multiple amazing layouts for my invitations. She is ridiculously talented and I cannot thank her enough for all of her help!

THANK YOU THANK YOU!! is likewise due to Femily Rose Busath-Murd. She has taken upon her the chore of hand-addressing all of our 450+ invitations. What a feat! Not an easy task, especially going at it alone. No fun. So thank you for doing that for me.

A special thank you goes out to the Mom and Pops for funding my eternal committment, and by that I mean not only paying for the wedding, but funding us for eternity. :D But seriously, thanks for making this happen.

I love all of you!! You help and support is indeed appreciated and I can't wait to see you guys in a month!!!! Woo!! Yay for ETERNAL LOVE!! <3>

Wow, REALLY different!!!!

Take this test!
You're green, the color of growth and vigor. Good-hearted and giving, you have a knack for finding and bringing out the best in people. Green is the most down-to-earth color in the spectrum — reliable and trustworthy. People know they can count on you to be around in times of need, since your concern for people is genuine and sincere. You take pride in being a good friend. For you, success is measured in terms of personal achievement and growth, not by status or position. Rare as emeralds, greens are wonderful, natural people. It truly is your color!

Apparently we're all different!

Take this test!
You're yellow, the color of joy and energy — two things you definitely bring to everyone around you. It's hard for anyone to be sad or lonely in your presence; your sunny disposition and cheery outlook just won't allow it. The warmth of your personality shines through in the kindness you show friends and family (and strangers, too). Always ready with a lighthearted joke or heartfelt compliment, you know how to make people feel good about themselves, so they can't get enough of you. Yellow is a warm and inviting color for a warm and inviting person — you!

Good thing blue is my fav color

Take this test!
You're blue — the most soothing shade of the spectrum. The color of a clear summer sky or a deep, reflective ocean, blue has traditionally symbolized trust, solitude, and loyalty. Most likely a thoughtful person who values spending some time on your own, you'd rather connect deeply with a few people than have a bunch of slight acquaintances. Luckily, making close friends isn't that hard, since people are naturally attracted to you — they're soothed by your calming presence. Cool and collected, you rarely overreact. Instead, you think things through before coming to a decision. That level-headed, thoughtful approach to life is patently blue — and patently you!

I'm an orange, how 'bout you?

Take this test!
You're a bold, confident orange. A warm, powerful color that indicates a strong, welcoming personality, orange is the mark of people who are social and extroverted by nature. Vibrant, with an upbeat attitude, you have a bright, inviting demeanor. Energetic and fun-loving, you're a real friend-magnet. Your easy charm and unassuming manner make you the sort of person people want to meet and get to know better. Well-rounded and fun to be around, you enjoy helping others, so it's no surprise that orange also symbolizes attraction. Orange is an extraordinary color — for an extraordinary person.

Jed

So there is a new man in my life. His name is Jedediah Bryce Goodell. He is 24, from West Virginia, a student at BYU (majoring in mechanical engineering, minoring in math, thinking about working with computers, like for graduate school, since that's what his job is now and he loves it), and the oldest of 8. Yes, 8! However don't get nervous, he only wants to have 3-4, like me.
He served his mission in Chile, speaks Spanish, loves fish (he has like 15, in two tanks), and plays frisbee a lot. He is a really good singer, guitar player, trumpet player, and Rock Band Hero.
Anyways, I am in love with this goober and I seriously plan on marrying him. It's not that I can see myself with him for the rest of my life, it's that I can't see myself without him for the rest of eternity. :)
Dad has already met him, along with the Utah Busaths, excluding Brad & Jonni, and all of the Utah Burnetts. I think Dad liked him. I know he liked Dad and everyone else. He thought Steve Busath was funny and really liked Grams and Mary. Those are the the comments I remember him making, but there were more good ones.
I can't wait for all of you who haven't met him to do so. Tom hangs out with us pretty frequently and they both have told me how much they like each other. Laurel will meet him in April when her and Nathan come out to visit. He and I are planning a trip to both of our homes in May, so that's whenI'll meet his family and he'll meet Mom, Ang, Jeff, & Pepper.
I just wanted to put all of that out there... Love you all!!
~Ali~

Flickr Group

Okay, I've got the indoor family ones up and ready to view.

Let me know what you think and which ones you would want on CD. The ones that I didn't upload were either the outtakes or ones where there was more than 3 people not looking.

Enjoy!

Flickr Group

I am sending you an invitation to sign up with Flickr. If you've already got an account, let me know and I can find you and add you to my Family contacts so that you can see the photos. If you have problems, email me. (laurel dot lakey at gmail dot com)

Thanks!

Outdoor Good One

Here is a great outdoor one. It's another composite of two shots, and everyone is smiling and happy. :) I also edited this one, softened it and slimmed some peeps. I'm putting the rest of them up tonight, so be on the lookout for a Flickr link. I'll post it here when I'm done and you can check them all out.

The Best of the Best

Hey all! I edited one of the indoor photos already. For this one, it's a combination of a couple of shots, so that everyone is looking and smiling (for the most part. Aidan is excused, lol!).

I think the best option is just to post them all at Flickr, then have you guys decide which ones you want and then I can edit them and send you a CD for you to print from. That way I don't have to edit them all, and you can decide which ones you want and have them for your own use.

Let me know what you think.

And no, I'm not holding them for ransom, I'm just really busy! :) Work, life, laundry -- it all just gets in the way sometimes. :)

NEWFLASH

I am finally in possession of the famed Busath photos! There are some cute ones that turned out well. A lot of them have one or two people looking weird, but that's what Photoshop is for, right? :) I'll post them to a Flickr account or something and let you guys know when it's up. It seems like it took them forever to get them to us, but I'm glad that they're here now. :)

Hope you're all doing well. We are still getting back into the rhythm of life, getting over that jetlag. I have some pics up on my blog of Australia and will be adding more soon. Mama Llama, I can't tell you how happy I was to come home to a clean house! You're seriously the bomb. I need to have you come out and stay more often, LOL. And how in the world did you get our stovetop clean? I've been working on that thing for a long time and it never looks that nice. You must tell me your secret! :) Anyway, I know Eli had a ton of fun. Thanks for being awesome. :)

Sorry, just saw that post today, Dad.

I haven't gotten a CD from the studio yet, but as soon as I do, I'll post some pics here and make copies for you guys. Drake said he was going to have them color corrected for us, so I'm sure that's what is taking so long. It is Busath, you know, so it tends to be a long process. :)

I know Em has a couple of pictures from the trip on her blog, and I'll post some here that I got. I have the family ones that we took at Steve and Mary's house, and I'll just include those on the CD that I send you of the Busath ones.

Here is a preview of the best one of the casual shots. Enjoy! :)

Any sign of the Busath pictures yet?

Hey guys. Now that everyone is home and settled down (except Emily, who is moving to Texas tomorrow), Has anyone posted pictures from Christmas yet? Also, where are the Busath Photography photos? Any sign of them yet?
